UK Travel Quarantine Rules Explained

UK Govt. is taking many quarantine rule changes very quickly, taking travelers by surprise. In a recent move, the Govt. added Portugal to the safe travel list, which means, no quarantine needed if you are coming in from the country. Meanwhile, Croatia, Austria, Netherlands, France strictly remain on the quarantine list.

According to the new rules, enforced upon, beginning 22nd August, Portugal joins the safe travel list from the UK. There were enough of bilateral talks to get this air bridge going. Finally, it is here.

If you were planning to visit Algrave, Faroe Islands and Portugal, you can now go ahead without thinking twice. however, we’d advice to spare Lisbon, where cases have spurted in high numbers.

Here are countries which remain open for safe travel and you won’t have to self isolate / quarantine yourself upon arrival from any one of these:

While the above are the countries, from where, if you enter into the UK, you won’t have to self isolate, here are the names of the countries which have been recently added to the non-safe list. This essentially means, if you are coming into the UK, you will have to self isolate.
